Dermaplaning training


What is dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment that removes the dead skin cells in the upper layer of the skin to reveal a smoother and brighter complexion. The scalpel finely removes dead skin cells whilst also removing the fine superficial vellus hair from the face, this treatment will leave your client with brighter more youthful glow, as well as allowing skincare products to be absorbed directly into the skin . Your clients will also find that their makeup sits more smoothly on their skin and really does leave their face looking flawless.


Dermaplaning is a fantastic treatment addition to any salon, aesthetic clinic as the treatment leaves the skin with a youthful glow that clients can see instantly. As the popularity has risen for aesthetic treatments, so has the interest in skin rejuvenation treatments.


How the treatment is done

The treatment involves using a surgical scalpel to finely exfoliate the top layer of the skin . The treatment is performed on freshly cleansed and dry skin. The scpale is positioned at a precise angle and the skin is pulled taut to avoid damaging the skin. Working in sections to reveal a more youthful complexion. Dermaplaning can be performed on all skin types except those with active acne. With the correct training, dermaplaning can be used in combination with other treatments.




  • You will need to hold qualifications in one of the following - Level 3 principles in aesthetics or level 3 beauty therapy, at least 6 months SPMU training, nurse or doctor
